(More customer reviews)It seems that you cannot update your Amazon Seller Feedback once entered, so I'll leave it here. I ordered this product from allergybeGone and it arrived promptly, however the packaging was so poor the pre-filter's metal frame was broken in multiple spots. Customer service was very responsive in offering me a refund, I however wanted a filter so I waited for them to restock and reship the filter. They assured me it would be packaged properly. When the filter arrived about 3 weeks later it was packaged in the exact same fashion as the first. While not broken the frame and metal filter have multiple bends and dents. This one will fit in the unit so I'll keep it- but I will not order pre-filters from Allergybegone again.
The filter appears like the original hunter but I can't know for sure.

(More customer reviews)Austin Air Plus and the Superblend - running everyday for two years, three years and beyond in several different homes (we own 6 units)and they work. This unit is not whisper quiet but on low it will remind you of white noise piped in at your office and is not bad. Medium and High fan speeds will move the air and can clear a sudden problem. These units have been effective in negating carpets that have had too much cleaning with that dry powder,chem-dry type of carpet cleaner that never comes all the way out of the carpet and later on causes the "lung slime" problems. They offset the dust and pollen blowing in from the road and storms and seasonal build-ups, they stop the stink of the dog and the cat box, they eliminate that stinky feet smell from an old bedroom and catch the cloud of insecticide that the neighbor's pest control man hoses around the yard. Any wonder these units were at ground-zero? Heavy use of the unit may result in need for replacement filters - which although they should last 5-years - sometime only go 1 or 2-years before they start blowing a funky smell (my sign it's time to change). Replacement filters are expensive at $200 to $250, representing half the cost of new unit. The switches on a few units that had lots of back and forth switching have stopped working properly but can be sent in for warranty work. Steel case and casters is a plus for this heavyweight.

(More customer reviews)Having purchased similar items in the past, I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted. When I found the item on Amazon, I was quite happy until it showed up at our door. I took it out of the box only to find out that the unit had a 220V, 2-pin rounded (European) plug. Nowhere in the online ads could I find this detail. I just looked again and still cannot find this in their ads. When I complained to Amazon and ANTonline (the suplier) about the problem, all they could offer was for me to send the unit back. That's not a easy deal with a big, bulky item like this. I ended up purchasing a 220 "step-up" converter for about another $20 with shipping and now it works fine. I wish that I had known about this plug and voltage issue before making the purchase. I might add that this is one of the few times that I've been disappointed with a purchase from Amazon.

Also, it has LED light warning so that if my room air is not good, red light shows on top left hole. If my room air is clean, it gives blue light. It works very fast with super strong air pump. My office is in downtown and the air quality is pretty bad. When I smoke in the office, this coway air gets rid of smoking smell so good, nobody notices next morning. I think this coway air is a competitor of iq air, blu air, and rabbit air. But, I like this one since it has nice design and very quiet.
Pros:
- 5 year warranty
- upto 2~3 year filter life
- nice design
- very quiet and automatic settings
- LED warning light for air quality
- works good for pollen
- no smoking smell
Cons:
- no remote control, if you are lazy. but, you can setup for automatic setting so when it is dark, it slows down.
- small size, if you think bigger size works better. I think it is good up to 300 sq ft.
If you are looking for something under $100, this product is more. But, you pay for the price. If you are looking for iq air or blu air, coway air purifier is reasonable and works very good for allergy problem and flu.

It was bothering him while working out, he said it was kind of smelly and he felt some kind of chalky weirdness, and he felt it was doing some damage to his lungs since he breathes so hard when working out. We picked up the Neoair air purifier, and the problem seems to have vanished. We can really tell the difference, and are pleased quality of the air in our basement. We are so pleased, in fact, that we may eventually purchase another for our upstairs.

NQ Clarifier Residential Air Purifier - HEPA Air Cleaner with Ultraviolet Review

(More customer reviews)I bought my first NQ Clarifier for $699 (free ship) in 2005. It was one of the best purchases I have made as an MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) sufferer.
The improvement in air quality is palpable and the machine can clean all the air in a 1500 square foot house twice every hour. This is better than other HEPA air purifiers in this price range. The top-flow design differs from that of most other air purifier brands and it seems to do a much better job at circulating the air and reducing dead spots of unpurified air in a room. The substantial 15 lb of carbon media and powerful fan pulling air through the HEPA filter and carbon media does a good job of totally absorbing all chemical odors and allergens. The purified air finally passes through a germicidal UV filtration system and comes out medical grade pure like what you would find in a hospital clean room.
The indicator lights tell me when I need to clean or replace the pre-filter and/or HEPA filter, and the UV bulbs. It's easy to unscrew and open the filter to change the filters and bulbs, which is good for me.
The roller wheels on this rather boxy machine facilitate moving it from room to room within the house. Even though the machine weighs 50 lbs, I have actually brought it to meeting (meeting rooms) to create a safe room for me there. With all the mouldy off-gassing carpets and office furniture, sometimes this air purifier is the only thing that works.
This machine is noisy, particularly at the highest setting. After a while I got used to the 'white noise' in my bedroom, but it might be too much for some people. (I am a light sleeper).
The service provided by the company is excellent. On three occasions when I called up, I spoke with knowledgeable and friendly staff and was attended to right away. This machine has proven sturdy and reliably built for 24/7 running these 3 years.
I bought my second one in 2007.

Austin Air Healthmate Jr Replacement Filter w/ Prefilter - Sandstone Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the Austin Healthmate Jr. about 2 years ago for a dusty area and have been happy with it. The three things I like best about it are that you don't have to buy filters very often because you can vacuum the outside of the filter and that it's relatively quiet. The other thing is that it takes air in on all four sides and blows the filtered air out through the top area. It seems to do a good job of filtering the air. It's more energy efficient than air purifiers I've used in the past and it has 3 speeds which is nice.
If you use it in really dusty conditions like mine, you can replace the pre-filter more often than the big filter. I've found this type of material that I could cut to fit at a local hardware store. You get a pre-filter with it. You have to take it apart to replace the pre-filter and filters, but it isn't difficult. You can turn off the machine and vacuum it from the outside and that seems to help the filters last longer. Of course, you'll want to use a vacuum cleaner with a hepa filter or you defeat the purpose. I replace mine about once a year, but I think the average person could go much longer.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't really have any way of measuring how good of a job it really does, only that it seems to do a good job in terms of allergies, odors, etc. There are so many air filters out there and so many claims, that it's hard to sort them out. But if I had to buy a filter for another room, I would probably buy this brand again.

Only one problem found and it is trivial: the visible portion that shows through the screening didn't match up to the screening and leaves a border around what is visible. Hard to explain and no big deal but does annoy. Will purchase replacements from this vendor when it is time to replace current filters.

(More customer reviews)Have used several less expensive HEPA filters in the past with less than stellar results - the Blueair 501 cleans the air more thoroughly - I would wake up occasionally coughing before (most likely due to pet dander) - have not had this happen since running the purifier at night on setting "4" of 5. I also have a neighbor who's second-hand smoke sometimes drifts in through the pipe fittings - the smell has disappeared, too. This unit is more expensive but it's worth it - am very satisfied!

Once when we were remodeling the house, we moved all the furniture and our air purifier was moved and left unplugged for a few days. I did not realize how it effected the air for a few days and then when I plugged back in there was that fresh clean smell and feel to the air. I have no scientific test to prove what it does but I do not that nose and eyes smell and feel the difference when it is on.

I have a sailboat that is very dusty, and thought this would clear out the dust. In the sunlight, you can actually see the dust floating in the air. I placed this contraption in the middle of the space, turned it on, and watched as the dust was blown around, and hardly any clearing of the space took place. The dust that was floating around continued to float around, with the machine running at high speed for nearly an hour.
I am a USN Supply Officer, and am typically very cynical about spending my money. This was a complete waste of my $$.

I've had problems previously with ordering this machine (from a different seller), because I had orderd the Healthmate Junior Plus, but received the basic Healthmate Junior. It's buyer beware with these air purifiers, because Austin Air, the manufacturer, doesn't put the "Plus" on the machine. So I had to call Austin Air with the serial number to check, and that's how I found out I received the wrong item. Amazon and the other seller were great about taking the machine back. Now I chose this seller and am very pleased to have received the right air purifier. Austin Air purifiers have a good reputation and I see them at the offices of several of my doctors so I believe I'm in good company ordering them. This one is going into my child's bedroom.
