(More customer reviews)I have a matching model of 1f80-261. It has been acting up with problems with the temperature not being accurate. We had purchased a temperature gauge to see the difference and it was always 5-7 degrees off. I went to replace the batteries thinking that may be the problem and the unit started smoking and hissing from behind the screen. I removed the batteries promptly and then removed the unit from the wall all while the grey smoke kept fogging out. I would be very careful of this product as it could very well be a fire hazard.

Honeywell Replacement Filter for 16060 Review

(More customer reviews)If you think this is the real and genuine Honeywell filter #16960 then you are mistaken. It is an imitation product made by BestAir that is NOT equivalent to the name brand filter. It fits my air cleaner and there is some sort of black fine grained filter fabric on the front face as expected. However the back white filter is far inferior. Instead of having a tightly fit ribbed accordion type filter with a high surface area on the backside, there are only a fraction of the ribs and my guess is about 1/5 the surface area. The description says "Item model number 16960" which is the Honeywell number I thought I was getting. This is deceiving because it is not the BestAir model number. The actual model number listed by BestAir is D110. DO NOT buy this product expecting an equivalent product to the name brand item.

I am really upset because the transportation packaging and the original packaging are not damaged at all which means that they sent them ALREADY in bad condition! these are for my allergic kids....THANK YOU!

(More customer reviews)The reviews here sealed the deal for me, though I'd been considering an air filter for some time. At last I have one. I don't have any regrets about this Bionaire unit. Not only is the sound of the internal cylindrical fan very quiet, it even becomes rather soothing after awhile. Is there any downside to this very inexpensive unit? Only one: the unit has no timer (though even some more expensive units lack a timer), so if you'd like to cycle it on and off through the day (to conserve electricity, for example) then you may want to pick up one of those inexpensive electrical outlet timers to cycle the unit off and on. But the manual says you can leave the unit on its lowest setting forever if you'd like.
I have this Bionaire air filter running in a small room in which I share my bed with my computer and various stereo componants (actually, they're not in the bed with me, but nearby). With the use of the Bionaire, I've seen a reduction in the amount of dust these electronics tended to attract, though it has not - as one review implied it might - entirely alleviated the need to vacuum...but that was more of a dream than a real expectation anyhow. I am very pleased with this unit and have suggested it to friends. I also want to mention the aesthetics of the unit: It has nice pillow-like curves, a soft appearance that suits a bedroom just fine. It is a neutral color that further helps it vanish from your attention.

(More customer reviews)Of course we can't know how things would be WITHOUT this air purifier, but it seems (to me) to be helping. I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and I'm doing better. Now, we've also recently moved out of a mold-infested home, BUT we now have attached neighbors who smoke, and it's difficult to get away from plastic odors, etc. etc. I feel that this purifier helps. The science behind it also makes sense. I also like the feature where you can turn it down so it's still working but it's not as loud. Even at the highest "setting," it's not obnoxious--like a very small fan noise, I think. It's also very easy to move, etc., with its nice top handle and not-too-heavy design. The circular shape also makes sense to me (to circulate the air), and it's reasonably "nice looking" in our living space.

(More customer reviews)Having purchased similar items in the past, I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted. When I found the item on Amazon, I was quite happy until it showed up at our door. I took it out of the box only to find out that the unit had a 220V, 2-pin rounded (European) plug. Nowhere in the online ads could I find this detail. I just looked again and still cannot find this in their ads. When I complained to Amazon and ANTonline (the suplier) about the problem, all they could offer was for me to send the unit back. That's not a easy deal with a big, bulky item like this. I ended up purchasing a 220 "step-up" converter for about another $20 with shipping and now it works fine. I wish that I had known about this plug and voltage issue before making the purchase. I might add that this is one of the few times that I've been disappointed with a purchase from Amazon.

I am a smoker and my wife is not but I no longer have to open the door when I smoke I just sit near the purifier and we are both happy, lol,
Also I live in Las Vegas such a dusty city in the deset and our apartment is so much cleaner now. I see the filter and have cleaned it once not because I had to just a personal preference.
some may say there is noisy on high but really it is not bad, low and medium there is no sound at all. I just keep it on high because I smoke.
I had a hard time choosing which model to buy but glad did not rush and picked this one. no filters to replace ionizer if I want, osilating if I want, I am very please would recommend it to anyone.

(More customer reviews)We bought the filter at the recommendation of our allergist. We bought it for our bedroom to try to cope with my nighttime nasal stuffiness. We had already removed the rug. After owning it a year, we haven't seen any dust accumulation on the inner stage 2 filter.
On the other hand, our central air/heat filter--where we've installed a top of the line filter--may be taking all the work away from junior, so I can't say for sure whether the fault lies with the filter.
In other words, it may be that if you've already put a quality inline filter in the central system, this portable filter is redundant.
I'm now investigating a humidifier (my son swears by it), and I've started using a neti pot (nasal saline rinse from what looks like a little tea pot). Neither of these were on the allergist's recommended environmental steps to take list. My recommendation: try these two things first.

Honeywell Enviracare 60000 Tower Air Purifier with IFD Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this air filter a few weeks ago. Apart from being very noisy, it was totally ineffective. After running for two weeks, the filter still has not collected any dust! I didn't research enough before buying an air purifier, but now realize that HEPA is the only way to go if you actually want to purify your air, not just move it around.
UPDATE
As a replacement purifier I purchased the Honeywell 17000 HEPA QuietCare Air Cleaner (see my review of this product). It works much better and actually removes particles etc from the air really well.
I tried selling my IFD fiter on E-Bay but no one would buy it - not even for 3 dollars! What a POS!

This item was intended to help clear an 11x11 bedroom from allergens as well as refresh stagnate air. It does not disappoint. The air is clean and odorless in just a few hours of initial use. There is a very natural feel to the room as well. My allergies have considerably improved as a result of running this machine on low. How does it sound? Well I can't even hear it from six feet away on the low setting. On it's medium setting you definitely hear it running, but it isn't a motor sound or a hum, it's just like a box fan. The high setting is the same as the medium only a bit more forceful. You begin to hear the hum. It doesn't rattle. I bought mine at iallergy.com and had an amazing experience. It's $94.00 shipping included. I had two day delivery and prompt friendly phone and email service. I'm particularly impressed with the high CADR ratings. A note on this though...This particular air purifier works in a 15x17 room, and I have mine in an 11x11. What this does is allow you to run the machine at low and avoid any noise on the medium setting (not that it is overly bothersome at that speed). Also, when you kick it up to medium or high, the refresh rate is super fast. Now, GO GET ONE and make your lungs happy! Ya-Ta!

Honeywell Tower Air Purifier Combo Pack Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these two days ago. The smaller unit was for my bedroom and the larger one for my daughter's. She is a baby and has started rubbing her nose and eyes and is stuffy. So I bought these units in hopes of cleaning the air. In just two days I have noticed she is breathing easier.
A special note, the larger unit was loud. It had a high pitch kind of rattling sound. My husband pulled the filter out, messed with some wire or other and now it is whisper quiet, like the smaller one.
Good buy overall. A little pricey on Amazon but my daughter is sleeping easier which was the whole point.
