Very simple to clean. Order the filters from the manufacturer (Surround Air) to avoid problems that a prior reviewer has indicated getting the wrong filters.

Airgle 750 Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)I own the Airgle 750 for almost 10months, Good Product if you can afford it.
Pros: very good fan motor, silent and good filter capacity.
Cons: the filter check indicator did not work well since 4th month and the manufacturer want me to send it in at my expense to have issue resolved. The fan works as desired thus i will live with the error light.
Other down side filters cost $160 to replace.

Oreck XL® Professional Air Purifier Signature Series (Burl Walnut) Review

(More customer reviews)I own one of these and am getting ready to purchase a second. I have severe asthma, and this machine greatly reduces the amounts of contaminents in the air and makes my life a whole lot easier. My brother also has owned one for YEARS, and NEVER turns it off. The air is so much cleaner and purer when this is in use. I live in the panhandle of Texas where the wind and the dust NEVER stop blowing, and when you walk into a room, you can tell if the machine is on or not. It removes much of the dust, not all of it, it is not a miracle machine. As far as an ionizer, I don't really know what it does. All I know is I can breath with this machine on, and my medication intake is greatly reduced. I find cleaning it very easy. One screw under the front, remove the filter, dust it off, dust the inside of the machine, reach in and remove the metal screen thing, run it under water, pull out the back and dust it off. Re-assemble, and turn it back on and breath again. I would greatly recommend it for anyone with any type of COPD.

(More customer reviews)I have a lot of sensitivity to smoke. I live in a development with a lot of fireplaces. These days people use fireplaces to save money on high fuel bills. Fireplace smoke is just about the worst irritant for me. I have 2 of these machines if I fire them up they work for me. No other machine I have owned have worked as well. They cost but they work. I can be inhaler free if I choose to. The machine costs less then steroids do plus no side effects. If you know your neighbors fireplace bothers you this is worth a try. I went back and looked at the older review of one star the buyer states he got 4 charcoal filters for 1200 bucks. This review is not accurate. The filters contain far more chemical then charcoal. I know because I built my own charcoal/carbon filters from activated charcoal. While my activated charcoal filters help with fireplace smoke they are not good enough. Unfortunately if you have chemical sensitivities to air charcoal alone will not do the trick. Charcoal/carbon and hepa filter is also not good enough. Personally I look to buy these used on e b a y . I then put new filters in them from amazon. Saves some money. It is nice to wake up in the morning and breath in clean air. It is nice to feel open clear lungs. Later this week I will try to find the other chemicals used in these filters.

Blueair HEPASilent Air Purifier - White (402) Review

(More customer reviews)We've had this model for about a year now. It's a high quality product. Even on the highest setting, it's still softer than our cool mist vaporizer on its low setting. The warranty is unbeatable. It's super easy to care for. The filter is very accessible. My husband has terrible sinus problems and this machine has been keeping him medication free since we purchased it. You can sign up for an automatic filter replacement program where the new filter is delivered automatically when it's time to change (every six months is recommended in order to maintain the 10 year warranty). It's costly, but worth it compared to the junk that you can buy in an average retail store. You can tell as soon as you open it that it's built to last.

NeoAir Enviro PLUS Replacement Filters Review

Hamilton Beach 04163 TrueAir HEPA Air Purifier with UV Germicidal Light Review

(More customer reviews)In the last couple weeks I purchased two air purifiers: The Hamilton Beach 04163 and the Kenmore Progressive 335. The Hamilton Beach was for my bedroom, which is about 200 square feet, and the Kenmore was for my 350 square foot living room. Both were purchased because of my allergies and fairly heavy dust buildup in my apartment.
I chose the Hamilton Beach because of it UV light, since I suspected mold in my apartment, and the Kenmore because of its value for money based upon a Consumer Reports' review and its cleaning capacity, which is one of the best of the affordable air cleaners.
The Hamilton Beach is well built, sturdy and has features not offered by most air purifiers: UV light and air quality sensor, which regulates the purifier's speed. I do agree with someone's earlier comment that it is fairly noisy, even at the lowest speed. If I had received the Hamilton Beach before the Kenmore, I might not have been so critical, since the Kenmore, even at high speeds isn't very loud. The Hamilton Beach makes a higher pitched sound which makes it difficult to sleep with it on and it can be heard through doors. The Kenmore really can't be heard when standing just a few feet away nor can it be heard through doors.
I find that both work very well, but, if I had to do it again, I would opt for a quieter air purifier (the Kenmore) for my bedroom and pass on the added features of the Hamilton Beach.

Sharp KC-860U Plasmacluster air purifier Review

(More customer reviews)Offhand, I own two FP-P40CX, one KC-150U and two KC-860 units. Suffice to say that I am a fan of Plasmacluster (PIC) technology. While a Blueair MD Pro sits by one side of the bed, a KC-860 sits by the other. An IQAir HealthPro Plus is situated in the family room with a second KC-860 not far away. Lose one point for not retaining the timer and remote control found in previous generation FP models. As of February 2011, the KC-860 is the most powerful stand-alone PIC, room purification unit available to the general public as a consumer purchase. Despite its rather flimsy carbon filter and tested in various bathrooms and a kitchen, the KC-860 does an excellent job of controlling odors so long as the Plasmacluster feature is used. Pre-filter is built into the unit housing (ala Austin Air) for ease of maintenance. KC-860 uses the same exact filters as do KC-100U/KC-150U/KC-850U for ease of filter sourcing. Ion generation crackle is clearly audible on these new models and is likely attributed to greater plasma and hence, ion output. Humidifying filter life can be extended through the use of a silver kill coil within the water tank. Unit can be run dry without the humidifying function in operation. Does not adequately cover stated square footage. CADR = Room Size = 245 Square Feet Area Coverage. Assuming ambient readings, the humidity sensor is typically off by less than 9% versus readings off a Kestrel 4200. Though its one-year warranty manufacturer leaves much to be desired, the KC-860 combines lightweight HEPA and carbon filters, electrostatic filtration and active hydroxyl radical sanitization under a brand name synonymous with good quality over the years. All in all and despite its shortcomings, the KC-860 represents a sane choice in a middle end room purification system that gives mid-high end models a run for their money and then some.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit a month ago after an extensive search for the "perfect" purifier at a good price. I went through the " I don't know about this brand blues" or " look at the price " comparing the others makes and models.
But I was sold when I called the company and talk to customer service after viewing the "you tube" presentation, they were honest and answered every question I had, I also like that I could return it no question ask if I didn't like it. The unit has more bang for the buck than any units I compared it to, and really their was no other unit that could match the combo of purification it has. This unit has 9 stages not 1 or 2 like the store brands. Well the unit arrived quick and setup was easy I was afraid it would be loud compared to what I heard at the stores but to my surprise it was perfect on "auto" and like all the reviewers are stating you will notice the difference in hours if not minutes this machine really works. I would buy again !

Blueair 501 Console Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)The Blueair company is a wonderful company to work with and helped settle my issues. I ordered 2 of the 501 units with replacement filters sight unseen based on user reviews. This is a very quality built unit, but the speed settings on the fan are far from usable. The lower speeds barely move enough air, yet the high speed is so noisy that you will think a tornado is in the room with you. The company gladly exchanged my 2 501 units with the 400 series units. The 401 units are far quieter and way more efficient in the way in which it moves the air, so order the 401, you can't go wrong. Keep in mind the 10 year warranty is only applicable if you can prove that you purchased and changed the filters every six months, if not no warranty exists, and the filters are not free, but affordable. In my opinion the 401 is the way to go, stay clear of the 501's due to the noise and air flow design, the Blueair company is second to none in customer support and are highly recommended. Thanks Blueair for helping me get it right....This is one heck of a company that will take care of it's customers. Also keep in mind when you order a Blueair purifier unit, one filter set will come included with the applicable unit that you order. If you order filters, they will be used later for replacements, I wasn't sure when I ordered if the filters were included but they were.

I consider myself somewhat of a gadget freak and air freak, so I'm well versed in these products.. I own "Hunter", "Holmes", and "Air-Tech" units..Ranging from "hepa" to "ionic". From $30.00 to $200 ++. This unit has it all..Its compact, quiet, efficient, effective, and attractive..Plus it has additonal features of being automatic (it adjusts speed to degree of contaminants) and bacteriostatic (kills mold and mildew spores).
Its got the price and features..and has proved reliable for the past 4 months I've owned it...
Its been the best choice I've made in these products..

They did not deliver the filter and they provided me with some fake package number that USPS said it did not exist. They also ignored my email messages - only once they responded with some idiotic text. I complained to Amazon and Amazon has returned me my money quickly. Why they ask me to write a review about a filter I didn't get, I have no idea.

Blueair 203 SMOKESTOP Air Purifier (white) Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this air purifier because one of my children suffers from allergies. We now run the Blueair 203 air purifier 24/7 and it really has been a remarkable aid for my son - whose sniffling is almost a thing of the past and whose rashes are virtually gone!
It's very quiet so it can operated throughout the night without disturbing sleep and it's an attractive unit. So, it's quiet, it's attractive, and it works really well; for that I give it five stars! I wish I had purchased an air purifier sooner. - I may even purchase another one for our living room!

Sunbeam 6613 HEPA filter. Review
