We purchased it because our little 3 year old Chihuahua had allergies that seemed to just come out of nowhere; biting and gnawing at his feet, pads and legs, chewing between his toes, rubbing his face and eyes on the carpet, scratching at his ears, etc. We had noticed he seemed to be losing his hearing a bit and the vet said he had ear infections, probably due to allergies.
To make things even more difficiult for him, we were having rooms in our home remodeled and all of the dust, dirt, fumes, etc. seemed to really make him absolutely miserable.
We purchased the unit hoping that it would at least help him be a little more comfortable in the house - but we NEVER expected it would take his allergies away 100%! As crazy as it sounds, within 10 minutes of having the unit on in our home office or living room, our Chihuahua no longer was scratching, chewing or rubbing. His ear infections cleared up within days without any meds, which our vet was even surprised to see, and his hearing returned to normal after the infections cleared. Our vet is now considering PetAirapy's professional units for their offices and clinics.

(More customer reviews)We bought this one to replace a larger Honeywell tower that had burned out the motor bearings. We have a room dedicated to small parrots, and they produce a lot of dander that we don't want to spread into the rest of the house. Our old Honeywell worked well, but it was hard to clean and fairly loud. This new one is much quieter, and works just as well, filtering a great amount of dander out of the air. It is far easier to clean, and the fact that no filters ever need to be replaced was a major reason for our purchase. It is running constantly, but it is virtually unnoticeable. We have tried several air purifiers over the years, and this is by far the best we have had.
